There is already something inside you. Discovery Day helps you find it — and prove it to yourself in one day, before you decide what career to chase, what school to pick, or who you want to become.
In one day you do things you have never done: figure out what you're good at, build your first idea, stand up and share it with mentors, and meet people who push you forward instead of holding you back.
Most students say it is the first time they believed in what they could do.
One day. Work you do yourself. Deliverables you keep. Confidence you earn.
You walk in not knowing what you are capable of. You walk out knowing exactly who you are, what you want to build, and what your next step is.
If that is you today, no worries — come back when you are ready to build.
What you're good at, your gifts, and how you lead — found through hands-on exercises and honest reflection. For many students, this is the first time.
Your core values, your passions, and the problems you actually care about solving. This is the foundation of every good decision you will ever make.
By building and pitching an idea in one day — to a live audience, with on-the-spot feedback — you surprise yourself with what you are capable of.
Friendships with other ambitious young people who push you forward. These connections do not stay in the room.
A community that sees you, believes in you, and challenges you — from this day forward and through every stage after.
A clear roadmap for what comes after today — and an invitation to go deeper if you are ready for it.
I walked in not knowing what I was capable of. I walked out having stood in front of a room, shared my idea with a room full of people, and actually believing — for the first time — that I could build something.
— Jordan, age 17
I didn't think I had anything worth pitching. By the end of the day I had a clear idea, a plan, and people who actually wanted to help me make it happen.
— Maya, age 15
The best part wasn't just discovering my strengths — it was realizing I belong with other kids who take this stuff seriously. I left with friends and a direction.
— Elias, age 16
Every session gives you something to walk out with — with short breathers built in so the day never feels like a sprint. You are placed in a group of 4 for the day, so you are never doing it alone.
Name badge, Malmberg Discovery Portfolio, welcome snacks. Soft music, easy energy — facilitators greet you the second you walk in.
Day overview, quick community agreements, and an energizer that turns strangers into teammates. You are placed in your group of 4 — your table for the day — so you feel part of something before session one.
The Identity Iceberg, core values ranked to your top 5, a look at what you're good at, and how you lead. Write your Identity Statement and name one or two stories that hold you back — then leave them behind.
Passion becomes impact. Build your Vision Canvas — what you want to create and why — and get honest, low-pressure feedback inside your group of 4.
Catered lunch, facilitators circulating, and time to connect with your cohort. No content — pure connection and a chance to recharge.
One relationship can change your direction. Craft and practice your 30-Second Introduction — your main takeaway — and sketch a light map of who already supports you and who you want to meet.
The emotional peak of the day. You present inside your group of 4 with peer and mentor feedback — then volunteers and table reps share with the full room for a high-energy highlight. Genuine courage and honest feedback, without a 40-speech marathon.
Write a short Personal Brand Line, then build your 90-Day Action Plan — the centerpiece — with three concrete next actions and one accountability partner from your group.
Portfolio final check, certificates ready, and the room reset as families begin to arrive.
Families join for the final 30 minutes. A few students and group reps share highlights, everyone receives their Malmberg Discovery Day Certificate, and you take home your finished portfolio. Celebration and a group photo.
You leave with your complete Malmberg Discovery Portfolio — everything you built today, finished and in your hands. Not homework. Not a bunch of worksheets. The foundation you keep building on.
Tap any pillar to see what you learn, do, and walk away with.
You can build many things in a lifetime. Only one of them is your life. Start there.
What HappensGreat ideas begin with problems worth solving. Purpose is the bridge between what you love and what the world needs.
What HappensOne relationship can change the direction of your life. The question is whether you are building them on purpose.
What HappensLeadership starts the moment you clearly say what you believe — and someone chooses to listen.
What HappensYour personal brand is not what you post. It is what people experience when they encounter you.
What HappensDiscovery without direction is just a feeling. This turns everything you learned today into a plan you start tomorrow.
What HappensEverything you create during Discovery Day comes home as one physical, spiral-bound portfolio — finished, in your hands, before 5:00 PM. Not homework. Not a bunch of worksheets. The foundation you keep building on.
The Malmberg Discovery Portfolio — yours to keep. Everything inside gets finished today.
Many students arrive quiet and unsure. By the end of the day they have stood in front of a room, shared their ideas, encouraged their peers, and started believing in themselves in ways no one expected.
At 4:30 PM, you will watch your child present the idea they built that day and receive their Malmberg Discovery Day Certificate in front of the room.
Yes. Certified Malmberg facilitators are present from 8:30 AM through 5:00 PM. Guest mentors attend on a structured schedule and are briefed before arrival. Students are never unsupervised.
Just themselves and their curiosity. All materials, workbooks, and the Malmberg Discovery Portfolio Kit are provided. Morning snacks and full lunch are included. Comfortable clothes and a willingness to fully participate.
None at all. Discovery Day meets students exactly where they are — whether they have never thought about leadership or already have ideas they want to develop. Everyone belongs here.
Parents and families are warmly invited to the Closing Ceremony starting at 4:30 PM, where students present their work and receive their certificate. The main program is students-only so the cohort energy stays open and honest.
Discovery Day is intentionally limited to 40 students. This means you actually get attention from facilitators, genuine friendships, and personal feedback on what you present. Small is the point — and why seats fill fast.
Students who want to continue are invited into the Vision Builder Intensive — five evenings turning self-discovery into action. After that, the Malmberg Leadership Society offers year-round community, mentorship, and growth.
Discovery Day is step one. Everything after is designed to take you further.
